The Charity

Elmwood OSCAR Programme Inc. is an incorporated society (Non-for-profit organisation) and a registered charity. All revenues are reinvested in the programme which is managed by a Committee made of volunteers.

Our programme is CYFS (Child Youth and Family) approved and we are affiliated with the OSCAR network in Christchurch. The OSCAR Network provides information on establishment, policies, funding, training, management and staff support, resources and the general running of an Out of School programme. The OSCAR Network is also a non-profit making organisation.

Our staff

Our staff is made up of our manager, Shawna, and two permanent staff members, Clare and Holly.

We also have several casual staff members, who help out especially during Term 4 and the January holidays while the pool is open. This ensures that the children enjoy a 1 to 5/6 ratio at these times.

Our Committee

A committee of volunteers is in charge of the programme. It is made of a minimum of 5 volunteers.

  • Chairman : Peter Finegan
  • Treasurer: Mary Himiona
  • Secretary: Latecia Noonan
  • Other members of the committee : Jennifer Teh and Brett Noonan

Joining the committee

The committee meets once every two months (at least) to review our finances and make decisions on the running of the programme.

Being a committee member offers many advantages:

    • being able to influence the decisions that impact on your child(ren)’s well-being at the after-school,
    • being part of a cool team of dedicated parents
    • and at last but not least, being offered a fee discount

We are always looking for new members, so please consider joining to help our programme continue to be a success!
